How to use the electronic blackboard

The "Electronic Blackboard Manual" (Japanese/English), which summarizes only the functions most frequently used in class, is available in all classrooms with electronic blackboards. Please read it carefully.

Instruction manuals and videos of explanations by manufacturer representatives are available on Moodle. (Access restricted)

In addition, the Educational Informatization Support Office provides lectures on how to use actual products at any time upon request. Reservations are not required. Please feel free to come to the Information Technology Support Room for Education (Room 202).

We are sometimes asked, "Are the old-fashioned whiteboards and blackboards being removed and replaced with electronic blackboards?" Please be assured that the whiteboards and blackboards can still be used. The electronic blackboard is a rather large TV-like device that can be used to project a PC screen, to write on a white screen (or dark green like a blackboard, or any other color you like), or even to combine these two functions to freely draw text or pictures on top of the projected PC screen (slides, videos, etc.). The two functions can also be combined to freely draw text and pictures on top of the projected PC screen (slides, videos, etc.). It takes some getting used to, but it can be used for a variety of purposes, so we hope you will find it useful in your classes.

Popular features for teachers

Hand swipe the electronic blackboard to send the slide material to the next.

When the PC and the electronic blackboard are connected with both HDMI and USB cables, the electronic blackboard can be used as a touch panel. In this state, when slide materials are displayed, the slide materials can be sent to the next slide by touching the electronic blackboard, or links in the materials can be opened.

While videos and other materials are played back on the electronic blackboard, the students write on them what they want the audience to pay attention to, etc., with the pen on the electronic blackboard.

Using the "Overlay" function of the electronic blackboard, you can freely draw lines, etc. on top of HDMI input video and other images. To access this function, touch the "Transparent Whiteboard" icon from the menu on the right side of the screen during video playback, etc.
